Pressestimmen

"Musicians will enjoy the close-up images of the band with its famed guitars: George Harrison with his Gibson acoustic, John Lennon with his Rickenbacker, Paul McCartney with his violin-shaped Hofner bass. We’ve seldom seen these instruments so closely and looking so shiny and new. The same is true for the pictures of the Beatles themselves. They look so young, fresh and lively that it’s hard to believe the pictures are more than 50 years old. . . [This book is] an excellent collection of one photographer’s intimate view of the Beatles, featuring mostly unfamiliar and very compelling images of history’s most famous band."-WinkBooks.net

You're Going To Lose That Girl".

Was absolutely thrilled to have discovered this book! I was surprised; as a life-long Beatles fan (having seen them live in 1964) and having been inspired in my music by them ever since, I thought I was aware of every "Beatles-related" publication period. Beyond that, my mind couldn't imagine the images that a "on-the-set/behind-the-scenes" photographer must have captured. Amazon being Amazon, I didn't even have to wait a day to find out!The book itself is attractive, and the cover shot of the scene from the Salisbury Plain automatically takes you back to the first time you saw the film. There are surely some unique photos here: Ringo & John on the street waiting for the action to begin for the "entering the multiple doors to the flat" scene; "The Boys" lounging in the "bachelor flat" between takes; a pensive Ringo with "the" ring, etc. All obviously well captured by Signore Lari. Unfortunately, the "bachelor flat" and the "Salisbury Plain" are about the only venues represented. True, as I said, there are a couple of photos that the "general public" hasn't seen, but they're certainly a very few for the size of the book. What's NOT represented? :The still to this day impressive "title song" set, "Buckingham Palace", "Indian Restaurant", "Recording Studio", "Skiing/The Alps" and absolutely NONE of the "Bahama's" scenes (including the iconic "eight-arms-to-hold-you 'goddess' on the beach" scene).Again, Signore Lari is an impressive photographer (and I say that as someone who has been an "amateur" photographer for decades) and does offer a "sneak peek" at what was going on. In sum however, I'm rather disappointed with the book, simply because of what's NOT included! Reading the description, I had anticipated a "behind-the-scenes-glimpse" of the WHOLE film.I've yet to decide whether to return the book. Regardless, it IS a "look-back" at a time when The Beatles were absolutely THE music.

I love any and all Help era photos so this book is most welcome and recommended. Most of the photos are candid shots as scenes were being set up or during breaks, you see a lot of film cameras and crew along with the FabsPros: mostly all new unpublished photos. Photo quality is mostly excellent. The photo on pg 65 of John with a long hair wig and ribbon is priceless. He looks just like Yoko:)Cons: most photos are B+W and are almost all from only two movie scenes: Salisbury Plain and the opening street and the inside house scenes This book makes a good companion to the Eight Arms To Hold You book from Ace Editions

When you are a huge Beatles fan like I am and love to watch Help or anything they are in this book becomes a nice companion piece and I marvel at the photos in this book. Well made and great quality stuff throughout.

Great father's day gift for the Beatles fan in our home.

Super Nice....
